Captain’s Log 003: April 26, 2024
Another week, another update for you from aboard the USS Konnekted. It turns out, opening a coworking space is a lot of work! Luckily, we have a crew aboard and we’re navigating the choppy seas one wave at a time. Here’s the latest… 1. Contractors on site We’re starting to bring in contractors who are hard at work planning the first phase of build-out for their respective areas. We have five building contractors working on our project currently, not including all the non-construction people working on the project. It takes a village! 2. Virtual mail almost ready We’ve been working with the local USPS to secure our physical mailing permissions and we’re now just days away from final approval. If you’re looking for a professional mailing address that isn’t your home office to put on your website, agreements, and invoices, we’ll have some options for you on that soon. We’ll be able to handle everything from individual pieces of mail to packages. And it won’t be a personal mail box (PMB)—we’ll give you an actual

Welcome to another edition of the Konnekted Captain’s Log! To keep you updated, here’s what’s happening around the space as we gear up for a Summer launch (date still TBD). 1. We received a new investment! We’re super pleased to announce that we have received a new investment partner. Their support will help us make our dream a reality in a bigger way—paving the way for this location and many more in the future! But for now we have our first location to execute on, so that’s our core focus. 2. Architectural plans submitted for approval We have finialized our architectural plans and they’ve been submitted to the city for approval. Work is underway as much as we’re allowed and we should be at full steam on construction within the next few weeks! 3. Our co-founder Michell is in town Michelle is our co-founder and design wizard extraordinaire. She’s responsible for designing the space layout and interiors, and has been instrumental in helping us bring our vision to life. Michelle’s in town to pick the

Thought I’d give you a quick update on what’s happening in the space. My goal is to send you one of these “Captain’s Logs” once per week to keep you up to date on what’s going on at Konnekted. Why a “Captain’s Log”? That’s a story for a different day. Before we get into it, thank you for being on the waiting list. Your interest does not go unnoticed nor unappreciated and it’s great to have you aboard. Let’s get into it… 1. Architectural plans The architectural plans are in the hands of the architect and are just about ready to go to the city for approval. Turns out it’s complicated to design the space to maximize the natural light transference throughout the space but we figured it out! Office walls will be 10 feet high leaving plenty of overhead room for light to pass through the space, down corridors, and into the offices. We’re also building walls with staggered studs and rockwool insulation that reduces noise transmission by up to 99%—so your calls and
